After death of her father Bhakti comes to stay with her fathers friend Inamdar who decides to take care of her as his daughter and marry her to his son Vikram (Vicky) whose studying in the city.Vicky comes to his village where his father gets him and Bhakti engaged and plan to marry them soon but after he goes back to city he feels that he has made a wrong decision of marrying Bhakti whose a village girl and wont adjust in modern society.Vicky goes to marriage bureau of Romeo and Majnu to find a match and comes across Chaitali they both fall in love and want to get married,Vicky also informs his father about his plans.Inamdar wont let this happen as Chaitali is daughter of his rival Deosarkar and wont let injustice happen to Bhakti.Inamdar then plans to transform Bhakti into modern girl and attract Vicky by the name Padmaja Pathak they succeed and Vicky falls in love with her and wants to ditch Chaitali.
